Thomas R. Grossman

Chairman, Board of Directors

Mr. Grossman presently runs Union Avenue Advisors LP, a company he founded in 2009, where he builds customized portfolios for separately managed accounts in the international markets. Prior to starting Union Avenue Advisors, Mr. Grossman was a portfolio manager at Ospraie Management, LLC from 2007 to 2008. He also established Aeneas Capital Management in 2000 and ran the business through 2008. Mr. Grossman’s extensive financial background includes positions as director of SAC International Equities LLC from 1997-2000, head of international trading for Kingdom Capital Management LLC from 1994-1997, international sales and trading desk at Goldman Sachs & Co from 1992-1994, analyst at Bridge Trading Co. from 1990-1992, and trader in equity options at Shearson Lehman Hutton from 1988-1990. Mr. Grossman graduated cum laude from Lehigh University, where he received a BS in finance.

Frank D’Amelio

CEO of Epica International, Director

Mr. D’Amelio has over 28 years of medical device experience at the senior level, having served as CEO of Ellman and CMO, CTO, and EVP of Gyrus ACMI. A key contributor to ACMI’s growth from $27M to $185M via new products, acquisitions, and restructuring, he co-led the sale of ACMI from Fox Paine & Co. to Gyrus for $500M, at 18x EBITDA. Mr. D’Amelio grew Ellman from $19M to $29M in 2 years, changing it from a convention-based salesforce to one that is directly focused on aesthetics and plastic surgery. He also led several successful M&A deals, on both the buy and sell sides and directed the production activities of 5 facilities while managing 700+ employees and increasing GP by 15% basis points over a 4-year period. Mr. D’Amelio has taken numerous products from inception through the FDA process and subsequently, onto commercial success. He is also named an inventor on numerous issued or pending medical patents. Mr. D’Amelio has a degree in electrical engineering and completed advanced training in finance and marketing.

Damiano Fortuna

President of Epica International, CEO & President of Imaginalis, Director

Dr. Fortuna is president of Epical International as well as CEO and president of Imaginalis S.r.l, the manufacturer of Epica’s HDCT products. Prior to Epica, Dr. Fortuna served as the executive director of the PhotoBioLab research unit of El.En. s.p.a., the market leader in laser research and manufacturing for medical and industrial applications. Dr. Fortuna spent seventeen years in veterinary practice and twelve years in basic and applied veterinary medical research of laser surgery and therapy with El.En. s.p.a. He received his degree in veterinary medicine from University of Pisa and completed postdoctoral training through various universities in Europe, where he focused on Italian veterinary medicine, food hygiene, public health, and innovative microscopy for biotechnology.

Renzo Valleggi

Chief Technology Officer of Epica International, Director

Dr. Valleggi is a founder, board chair, and chief executive officer of Gruppo Scienzia Machinale S.r.l. An accomplished mechanical engineer, he has worked in the research, development, and robotics department of Scienzia Machinale (the first spin-off of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa) since 1992. Dr. Valleggi spent more than fifteen years developing innovative products for defense, healthcare, and domestic appliances within the industrial automation sectors. Dr. Valleggi is the author of several patents and holds a Ph.D. in the mechanics of materials from the University of Pisa.

Gregory Stoutenburgh

Sr. VP of Global Strategy & North American Sales for Epica Medical Innovations, Director

Mr. Stoutenburgh has amassed extensive experience in the medical, veterinary, and equipment fields. He managed, directed, and consulted for over 100 veterinary practices as well as some medical and dental practices. Mr. Stoutenburgh founded and presided over Symphony, a veterinary management service provider from 2005 to 2012, while still operating some of his own practices. He also served as vice president of marketing and advanced modalities for Sound-Eklin, a division of VCA-Antech. Mr. Stoutenburgh received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Long Beach State University.

Eric Lindquist


Dr. Lindquist has extensive surgical and clinical experience in general practice, both directly and as a consultant, and is a lecturer and past director of operations for New Jersey Mobile Associates. Dr. Lindquist’s work includes clinical veterinary sonography in New Jersey and general practice in California and Connecticut (with an average direct and virtual sonography case-load of 300-500 patients/month since 2001). He is also cofounder (2003) of the UGELAB (ultrasound-guided endoscopic laser ablation) procedure for palliative treatment of transitional cell carcinomas in dogs, and most recently, was director of operations of a 6-doctor mobile clinical sonography practice in New Jersey for Sound-Eklin. Dr. Lindquist is the founder of SonoPath.com, a website dedicated to enhancing diagnostic efficiency in veterinary medicine by means of ultrasound. He holds a doctoral degree in veterinary medicine from University of Bologna School of Veterinary Medicine and a BS degree in zoology from Humboldt State University. Dr. Lindquist received a specialty certification in 2003 from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.

Joe Soto


Joe Soto serves as Epica International’s treasurer and shares in consulting and directorial duties. He is a co-founder and chief executive officer of Facilitated Growth LLC, a management consulting firm based in New York City, that specializes in capital strategy and business development for early stage companies. Mr. Soto handles the Firm’s financial structuring, investment opportunities, and limited partner relations. Prior to Facilitated Growth, Mr. Soto served as the chief financial officer of Jurasic Industries and as a commercial banking specialist for Quadrant Funding, LLC. Across Mr. Soto’s private equity interests, he holds various advisory and directorial positions, primarily on behalf of Facilitated Growth. Mr. Soto attended Mercyhurst College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a BA in hospitality management.
